EE.UU: Aumenta 50% el consumo de frambuesa congelada entre 2012 – 2015
The USDA/Economic Research Service (ERS) tracks and publishes per capita consumption data of many different foods to inform public and private decision makers on economic and policy issues. This data is based on food availability, which estimates and measures food supplies moving from production through marketing channels for domestic consumption.
The ERS per capita data is an estimate based on a consistent methodology and provides an indicator of frozen raspberry consumption. The National Processed Raspberry Council (NPRC) recently evaluated USDA/ERS per capita consumption data for frozen raspberries through 2016, the most recent year for which data is available. The chart below shows the per capita consumption of frozen raspberries during the 2006-2016 time period.
Although per capita consumption remained relatively stable over the 2006-2013 time period, 2014 and 2015 show a marked increase. While there are many market forces at play, this corresponds with the NPRC’s initiation of its marketing efforts in 2013.
The next ERS report with data for 2017 is expected to be published in July, 2018.
