Almendras/EE.UU: producción 2008 se estima en 1.500 millones de libras en California. (04 / Julio / 2008)

California is poised for a record almond harvest with an estimated 1.5 billion pounds.
The forecast announced today by the Almond Board of California is based on U.S. Department of Agriculture staff counts of nut sets. USDA statistician Doug Flohr said the forecast is up 3% from the May 7 subjective forecast, which was based on a phone survey of growers. The estimate is also up 9% from this year’s crop to date of 1.38 billion pounds as of May 31.
